Oxford City - Non League Cup Champions

St John Fisher win a 26 team tournament to represent Oxford City Regionally

Today our boys team ventured down to Oxford City football club to take part in their annual Non-League Cup to win a chance to represent Oxford City regionally.

Last year our boys lost the final on penalties and this team included some from last year looking to go one step further.

We had a challenging group stage, losing a few games in close matches on the counter attack, but we learnt from our mistakes and ended with a 5-1 victory to reach the round of 16.

Our first knockout game v Cumnor was one way traffic, but we could not finish our chances and it went to penalties. We kept our cool and Deacon saved the decisive penalty.

Our Quarter Final was a close game which ended in a 2-0 victory after an incredible goal by Jude.

The semi final, once again, saw us struggling to convert chances v Cutteslowe and coming through on penalties.

The Final was against Phil and Jims who were a fantastic team who had not let in a goal all day, but Jude converted a quick chance at the death to see us win 1-0!

An amazing team performance all day saw us lift the trophy.

This means that we will now have a chance to be mascots at an Oxford City game, and will go on to represent them at a regional competition!

There were 26 teams there today, and we rose to the top!
