St Nicholas - Nursery

Welcome to St Nicholas Class

Our class teachers are Leah, Kady and Maria-Carolina. We work very closely with the reception staff; Miss Brooks (Early Years Foundation Stage Leader), Elaine and Kirsty.

Housekeeping:

Snack: St John Fisher Primary School promotes healthy eating. Fruit and Semi-Skimmed Milk is provided for a snack during your child's session.

Water: Children have access to drinking water at all times. We have lots of cups and would like children to become independent by pouring their own drinks and therefore ask that your child does not bring a water bottle to school.

Summer: In the sunny weather, please ensure your child comes to school with a sun hat and that sun cream is applied before school. Your child should wear suitable clothing for warm weather, but we still need to keep them safe as they play outside. Please ensure that their t-shirt covers their shoulders (no strappy tops/vests) and that their shoes cover their toes (no sandals or flip-flops). We have a lot of shady places in our playground, so we will encourage children to play in the shade and keep them inside when the sun is at its strongest. Drinking water is accessible at all times.

Winter: We spend a lot of time outside! In the colder months, please ensure your child comes to school with a warm coat, hat and gloves.

Waterproof Coat: Please ensure that your child has a waterproof coat with them every day - we go outside when it is raining!

Wellies: Please send your child into school with wellies and their school shoes when it is raining so that they can go outside. We also have a large selection of willies for your child to borrow if they need to.

Umbrellas: If your child walks to school with an umbrella please take it home when you drop them off and bring it back when you pick them up, as we unfortunately have nowhere to keep them.

Spare clothes: A bag of spare clothes should be brought to school each day which should include a full set of clothes (including underwear). Please ensure each item is labelled with your child's name.

Please ensure that all of your child's belongings are named! This helps us to return the correct items to the right child if they are misplaced. Thank you!
